23 Mar Laura Smitheman
Laura left the UK as a Chartered Accountant on a quest to find more meaning in her numbers. Becoming disenchanted by the NGO world, she discovered the transformative powers of impact entrepreneurship. Along the way to co-founding Impact Hub Phnom Penh, she co-launched Cambodia’s only platform for social entrepreneurship and became an alumni of the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship program.
Operating in a challenging environment in which co-working is little understood, the educational backgrounds of entrepreneurs is limited and where the impact entrepreneurship ecosystem is in its infancy, Impact Hub Phnom Penh is already making waves. With a diverse education program, university partnerships, ongoing development of Cambodia’s first impact incubator, partnerships with the Unreasonable Institute and the DO School, Laura takes the lead on the educational content of Impact Hub Phnom Penh. She is inspired everyday by the power co-working and high quality content provision has for bringing people together and stimulating tangible results.
